How it works
I provide a flexible service, working with you to get your message across in print or on the web. My rates are based on the suggested minimum fees published by the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP). My minimum charge for any job is £50. I offer 3 types of service.
You may just want spelling, punctuation, and grammar to be checked. Perhaps you want the layout checked as well. The charge for this is £25 per hour. A lot depends on the quality of the document and how much checking you want, but to give you a guide that can be about £4-6 per 1,000 words. Editing also includes suggesting changes to improve readability. If you are worried that your document is too wordy, this is the option to choose. The charge for this is £29 per hour. See the Options page for more detail.
If you don't have time to write for yourself, I can help to bring more resource into your team. The charge for this is £33 per hour. See the options page for more information.

- You contact me, letting me know what sort of help you need.
- We agree what I will do.
- I send you a copy marked up in word, PDF, or on paper.
