Book marketing
Not a subject that comes naturally to many of us, but every author needs to take the lead on marketing their book. These books explain how to sort out your campaign.
Sell Your Books by Debbie Young is a very easy book to read. I've seen a lot of guidance saying that it is important to have an Author Platform, but where do you start if you don't know what that means? This book has sensible practical details to help you promote your book, including things like:
- What you should put on your website.
- How to prepare for a meeting with a high street bookseller, what to say at the meeting, & how to follow up afterwards.
- How to run a book signing. While I'm sure most of us would think of having several pens we have checked will write on the actual book, it is reassuring to have that level of detail set out.
- How to cope with the media.
